England’s Lucy Bronze made history by being selected in the Fifpro women’s squad for a record eighth time.
Barcelona striker Lamine Yamal also entered the history books, becoming the youngest player to appear in the men’s world squad.
The Chelsea defender Bronze is one of six English players in the Women’s World Cup squad.
Striker Chloe Kelly and Chelsea goalkeeper Hannah Hampton make their debuts, while England captain Leah Williamson and striker Alessia Russo are also included after helping the Lionesses win back-to-back European titles.
The latest English player is Chelsea defender Millie Bright, who did not play in Euro 2025 but is still on the list.
At the age of 18, Spaniard Yamal broke the record set by Kylian Mbappe in 2018 when the French striker made the men’s starting line-up at the age of 19.
Mbappe was also included this time, as were English midfielders Cole Palmer and Jude Bellingham.
Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain dominate the squad, with five of the players – including goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who now plays for Manchester City – in the XI.
Defenders Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes, midfielder Vitinha and striker Ousmane Dembélé join Donnarumma, who signed for Manchester City at the beginning of September.
Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk and Barcelona’s Pedri complete the lineup, but Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is absent from the squad.
The Fifpro World XI Award is the only world football award voted exclusively by professional footballers.
More than 26,000 players from 68 counties chose their men’s and women’s teams this year.
