Wrexham’s success on the pitch is clear to all to see, however, the back-end developments and core business are equally important to sustaining Reynold and Mack’s ambitions for the North Wales club.

Regular players of Stok Cae Ras – or the millions of viewers watching the matches on screens around the world – must have also noticed a number of modifications to the world’s oldest international football stadium which is still in continuous use.

The stadium’s iconic Kop Stand will be demolished in 2023 after being abandoned for 16 years.

A temporary stand seating around 3,000 fans was used during the 2024-25 campaign before being removed to make way for a new permanent stand.

Work on the stand – which will seat 7,500 fans in total, bringing the total capacity of Stok Cae Ras Stadium to 18,000 – began early in the 2025-26 season and is scheduled to be completed in early 2027.

As they do not have their own Colliers Park training complex, Wrexham are regularly asked to train elsewhere, including at Carden Park or at The Rock – now owned by the club.

But even other aspects including catering and travel arrangements – which include traveling to some away matches to aid recovery – have been adjusted to improve performance.

“The difference is huge,” said former captain Ben Tozer, who made 136 appearances and won successive promotions with Wrexham.

“Although some of the really big changes may not have happened – like we still don’t have our own training ground – the infrastructure is improving every year.

“The players always felt interested, but the levels have gone up.”
