📌 Here’s what you’ll learn:

Chet Holmgren pinned Cooper Flagg with a satanic sticker at Monday’s game between the OKC Thunder and Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center. NBA fans reacted quickly on social media, with some fans already putting VJ Edgecombe ahead of Flagg.

Early in the second half, Holmgren took a ball to the elbow and made P.J. Washington feed his pump fake. The Thunder big man drove to the basket and dunked all over the hapless Flagg, as the Mavericks crowd was stunned into silence.

The No. 1 pick had just two points at that point in the game and was struggling against the defending champions. It’s part of rookie life for Flagg, who will have his best performance of the season on Sunday. He was also playing in his first of back-to-back games.

NBA fans were quick to compare Cooper Flagg’s performance Monday night to that of fellow rookie VJ Edgecomb of the Philadelphia 76ers. Edgecombe was outstanding, finishing with 26 points as the Sixers improved to 3-0. Some even call Edgecombe the better player he actually is.

Here are some comments after Flagg was dunked by Chet Holmgren.

Flagg is now exposed to Edgecomb better

White on white crime 💀

His welcome to the NBA moment lasts a week

Can’t let this happen if it’s your Flagg. Chet’s shoes weigh more than him. Come on, man.

The Mavericks look pretty bad and it doesn’t help Flagg’s “bankruptcy” case

Cooper Flagg finished the 101-94 loss to the OK Thunder with just two points, two rebounds and two steals. Flagg went 1-for-10 from the field and missed all four of his shots from beyond the arc. He struggled against one of the best defensive corps in the NBA, despite the absence of Jalen Williams and Alex Caruso.

It appears that Cooper Flagg injured his shoulder during the thunder

The Dallas Mavericks are already dealing with several injuries early in the season, and Cooper Flagg may be out with an illness following their loss to the OKC Thunder. ESPN’s Tim McMahon reported that Flagg was wearing a bulky cap over his left shoulder while on the bench.

McMahon explained that Flagg suffered a minor injury on the first possession of the game. This did not prevent him from leaving the game, but it could have affected his shooting. Flagg played 30 minutes, so the Mavericks were confident he could still perform.

“Cooper Flagg had a major sprain in his left shoulder while on the bench all game. It appears he punted the ball on his first possession of the night,” McMahon tweeted.

The Mavs close out their five home games to start the season on Wednesday against the Indiana Pacers. Flagg’s case for that game is worth monitoring.
