Floyd Mayweather fights kickboxer Mike Zambides before the Manny Pacquiao fight

Floyd Mayweather will face veteran Greek boxer Mike Zampides in an exhibition bout in June ahead of his rematch with Manny Pacquiao.

Pacquiao, 47, and Mayweather, 49, will face off at Sphere Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, September 19, live on Netflix, in a rematch of the 2015 “Fight of the Century” – the richest bout in boxing history.

Former five-weight champion Mayweather – who announced that he would come out of retirement for the fourth time two weeks ago – decided to face Zambides in Athens in preparation for his first professional boxing match in nine years.

American Mayweather said on Instagram: “2026 already looks like an exciting year for me.”

“I’m off to entertain!! Athens, Greece, get ready. This summer is going to be a legendary battle.”

Zambides, 45, has a 157-24 record in kickboxing with 87 knockouts. His last official fight was in June 2015.

Mayweather has not fought a professional bout since defeating mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor by technical knockout in the tenth round in 2017.
