📌 Here’s what you’ll learn:
One year ago, e-commerce giant Amazon launched its new online car selling business with Hyundai. Now, Ford is joining the company by developing a certified pre-owned vehicle.
Ford announced Monday that customers will be able to shop for, finance and purchase certified pre-owned Ford vehicles on Amazon Autos. The partnership still keeps dealers — a key driver of Ford’s revenue — informed. Customers can browse a participating local dealer’s inventory directly through Amazon’s website, complete most paperwork online, then schedule an appointment to pick up the specific vehicle, according to Ford.
Any certified pre-owned vehicle sold by dealers on Amazon Autos comes with a money-back guarantee, Ford said. Customers can return the vehicle within 14 days or 1,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Amazon Autos works like the rest of Amazon’s broader e-commerce ecosystem. Shoppers can search for available vehicles at participating dealers by model, trim, color and features. Customers can also secure financing and e-sign paperwork through the Amazon Autos website.
When Amazon Cars launched last year, it was focused on new car sales, specifically Hyundai. The addition of Ford opens up a different, though related, market for certified pre-owned cars.
Ford vehicles will be offered on Amazon Autos initially in a handful of markets, including Los Angeles, Seattle and Dallas.
