McLaren and Red Bull have released photos of their cars for the 2026 Formula 1 season as pre-season testing begins in Spain.
McLaren, which won the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championship double last year for the first time since 1998, displayed the car in the only livery it will use in this week’s testing at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit.
The teams are conducting private testing to which independent media has not been granted access.
Red Bull showed off studio shots of their car, carefully chosen to hide key design features.
It is the first Red Bull design to use its new in-house engine, which was developed in collaboration with new partner Ford.
Red Bull is yet to say when the RB22 will be running for the first time. Teams can choose three of the five days to test their cars.
McLaren say they will definitely not participate on day one, and perhaps not on day two. They preferred to devote additional time to design and development rather than stay on track for opening day testing.
Aston Martin faces a race against time to be ready for the full three days of potential operation. The team did not reveal the details of its program, despite requests.
Williams will miss testing in Barcelona as a result of delays in building their car.
Other teams will release a limited amount of officially approved information during the testing period.
