NSW Police have charged four teenagers with the drive-by shooting of former NRL player Matt Utay and the alleged arson attacks targeting his family in Sydney.
Utay was shot in the leg and shoulder during a drive-by shooting in the Sydney suburb of Greenacre on Tuesday.
A 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man are charged with accessory after the fact to shoot with intent to kill.
An 18-year-old and a 19-year-old were charged with damaging property by arson, while the latter was also charged with supplying prohibited drugs.
Utay (44 years old) is still in serious condition after undergoing surgery for his injuries.
Police said the shots were fired from a white SUV, which was later found burned in nearby Wylie Park.
On Wednesday, police attended another incident after a shooting at a home in St. Clair. A woman in her 50s was in the home but was not injured.
Shortly after a car was found on fire in Colyton and later the same day a house and vehicle were found on fire in Guildford West.
The New South Wales Police Department said a task force had been formed to investigate the incidents, which were all believed to have been targeting the same family.
