FPL gameweek 12 tips: Captain Mohamed Salah, double from Bruno Fernandes and Brian Mbeumo

Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United, £8.9m – Everton (h)

This is a guy with better stats than Salah.

Fernandes has a consistent chance of coming out on top (he has only had fewer than eight points once this season), and without the two missed penalties, he would be close to Antoine Simeño as the best midfielder.

Just a very consistent option in the English Premier League with free kicks and penalty kicks in his locker.

United have scored 11 goals in their four home wins this season, have a top-five attack and should score at least two goals against Everton.

Benjamin Sisko’s injury could mean Fernandes plays a more advanced role against Everton as well.

Brian Mbeumo, Manchester United, £8.5m – Everton (h)

We’ll be all about United’s attack this week and Mbeumo is the obvious second choice.

He has four goals and an assist in his past five games, and is in the top three among midfielders in terms of shots, shots on target, big chances and shots into the box.

Cisco’s absence could see him play as a centre-forward as well.

Antoine Semenyu, Bournemouth, £8.1m – West Ham (h)

So far, the star of the season has played four matches in a row – 4, 3, 2 and 0 points.

He only had six shots in those games, including a missed penalty kick.

But a home game against the second-worst defense in the league – conceding 23 goals – is the right time for Semenyu to return.

If not, owners — that’s roughly 64% of FPL managers — may be right to be concerned.

Keep an eye on the ankle injury that forced him out of Ghana’s last game – Marcus Tavernier (£5.5m) is a budget-friendly backup option.

Yankuba Menté, Brighton, £6 million – Brentford (h)

Mente could be the best £6m midfield option in the game.

He has more assists than any other midfielder – five alongside Mohamed Quddus – and if you have watched any of his recent matches, he has left few points on the pitch, with missed chances and almost no assists.

His xG for example is 2.1 but he only has one goal. Players tend to outperform xG within a season.

Brentford are in good form, but they have also conceded two goals in each away game.
