✅ **What You’ll Learn**:
bart Verbruggen, Brighton-Goalkeeper, £4.5 million. Burnley (h)
Brighton don’t keep a host of clean sheets – four in 19 games – but the home game against Burnley represents as good an opportunity as any.
Verbruggen also makes a lot of saves – he has at least one save point in six of his past eight games – and his 11-pointer against Sunderland shows the upside if you get a clean sheet from him.
He earned three bonus points and two saves in that game, in addition to his clean sheet.
Gabriel, Arsenal£6.4 million – Bournemouth (A)
He’s back and his prices have already shot up, so FPL managers will be jumping on Gabriel’s bandwagon again.
Clean sheets, great goal threat, 16 extra points so far. It’s an easy choice if you have the money.
Malik Thiaw, Newcastle£5 million – Crystal Palace (h)
Palace’s xG was fourth best among all teams until flying full-back Daniel Munoz was injured.
Since then, as of Week 15, they are in the bottom 10 and the goals have stopped.
Thiaw is Newcastle’s most reliable defender, the only one to score this season (twice) and have defensive contribution points (defcon) in five of his 16 appearances.
james Tarkovsky, Everton£5.6 million – Brentford (h)
Tarkowski had a massive 19 clearances in the win over Forest and has now claimed the two-point bonus in 13 of his 19 starts.
It is very reliable for Everton with two clean sheets in a row.
jeremy frimpong, Liverpool£5.7 million – Fulham (A)
Pick this one up as an alternative but Frimpong is a defender who plays out of position on the right wing for one of the best attacks – in theory – in the league.
He passed the eye test in Liverpool’s 0-0 draw with Leeds on Thursday, creating the only big chance of the game.
