💡 Here’s what you’ll learn:
Eberechi Eze, Arsenal, £7.6m – Fulham
With Martin Odegaard still on the bench, Eze looks set for a long spell in Arsenal’s squad, making him an interesting option in the Premier League.
He tops most of the basic statistics for Arsenal’s midfielders. His 17 shots translate to an average of 3.85 shots per 90 minutes – Bukayo Saka is second with 2.33 – and 11 of those have been inside the penalty area.
Keep in mind that he hasn’t scored yet and you can say “it’s due”!
Eze was involved in 38% of Arsenal’s goals when he was on the pitch, which is a huge number in an Arsenal team that includes so many good players.
Engaging, playing well and a good price. Get it on your radar.
Antoine Semenyu, Bournemouth, £7.9m – Crystal Palace (A)
This slot is reserved for Semenyo until further notice. Palace’s away game is not the easiest match, but it may just be a constant guideline.
Jadon Anthony, Burnley, £5.7m – Leeds (h)
Leeds are a team you can target away from home, as their expected goals conceded (xGC) is more than double their record at Elland Road – 5.5 to 2.3.
Four-man Anthony is proving to be Burnley’s best goal threat and is a good price if you’re looking for a rotatable fifth midfielder.
These are the kind of games they play in – at home to a promoted side – and Burnley have a point to prove after a poor start.
Jeremy Doku, Manchester City, £6.6m – Everton (h)
Doku is a bit of a risk, but his last two home games have each yielded 10 points.
Behind Haaland, he is City’s most creative player so far, having been involved in 27% of the team’s goals when he is on the pitch.
With his explosive pace, you would imagine he would enjoy taking on Everton’s Jake O’Brien, who, despite playing well this season, is still a 6ft 6in centre-back who plays as a full-back.
Enzo Fernandes, Chelsea, £6.7m – Nottingham Forest (A)
Cole Palmer’s injury is bad news for Chelsea but good news for Fernandes’ value in the Premier League as he is likely to continue to play in an advanced role.
Among all players in the league, he has the fourth highest xG so far at 3.66, and the second highest among midfielders.
We care about Semenho, whose xG is slightly better at 3.73, so does that make Fernandes the second best choice in midfield?
He had eight shots inside the box, six big chances and three goals. With a better finish, he will have more and be exposed to penalties as well.
Monitor his injury condition.
