FPL talking point: Can you trust any of Liverpool’s assets?

Holly Shand: We have reached a crossroads with Liverpool’s assets as their fixtures take a turn for the worse, with Manchester United, Brentford, Aston Villa and Manchester City in the next four weeks.

Ryan Gravenberch has been their star player over the past four weeks, contributing three goals in this period. Competition for space up front means consistent minutes are not guaranteed for Cody Jacobo, Hugo Ekiteke and Alexander Isak, who is still awaiting his first Premier League goal for Liverpool.

Mohamed Salah represents the biggest enigma: he has been involved in four goals in seven matches, three of which came late in stoppage time. He’s had two straight layups and never scored in double figures, while he regularly put up big points last season. This lack of form means that managers are unlikely to opt for Erling Haaland in any of the next four weeks, and so he may struggle to justify his £14.4m price tag.

However, he remains Liverpool’s best attacking option and has the potential to punish anyone who sells him before Manchester United at Anfield this weekend. He scored 134 fantasy points in 15 matches against Manchester United in the match.
