FPL Talking Point: Stick with Erling Haaland or turn on him?

Erling Haaland travels to the city where he was born on Saturday Manchester City Visit Leeds In the Premier League (17:30 GMT).

With more points than any other player in the FPL, he remains a standout choice as captain.

However, with City set to be one of three clubs without a match in Week 31 of the league – meaning their players will not score any points that week – do you stick with the Norwegian striker or flip with him?

FPL expert Prasun Singhal and some members of the FPL Podcast team weigh in on the best options for Gameweek 28.

singal: “Haaland started the season worth £14m but his price tag has risen to £14.8m. If you want him back in the second round, which might include a double gameweek at some stage, that will be much more expensive.”

“Even if Haaland is not the best option at the moment, it’s not as if other high-priced players are offering their hand.

“Mohamed Salah has not scored for nine weeks and Bukayo Saka has also been confirmed for Round 31 of the Carabao Cup Final, so would you like to use up your valuable transfers?

“However, in his past nine appearances, Haaland has gone beyond six points just once, and now has just one goal from open play in his last 10 games.

Chris Sutton: “Leeds are excellent at home. It was a close game earlier this season at City, when the tables turned after they brought on Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

“I don’t know about Erling Haaland, because with Leeds being his father’s former team, would he want to score? Maybe I’ll go somewhere else.” [as captain]”.
