Border Holding GroupThe parent company of low-cost airline Frontier said it has replaced its CEO of nearly a decade, Barry Biffle, as the airline’s president.
James Dempsey, the company’s president, will serve as interim CEO, effective immediately.
“Jamie has been an invaluable member of Frontier’s senior leadership team for more than 10 years and has played an instrumental role in the company’s development and growth during that time,” Chairman Bill Franke said in a press release. “We believe Jimmy is uniquely qualified to guide our airline into the future.”
Biffle declined to comment. Frontier did not immediately comment on Biffle’s departure.
Frontier said Biffle will remain in his position “in an advisory capacity” until the end of the year.
Bevel has been CEO of Frontier since March 2016.
