Emma Finucane and Anna Morris win gold for Great Britain on day three of the 2026 UEC Track Elite European Championships in Türkiye.

Former Olympic and world champion Finukani, 23, entered the third day of competition in Konya in fine form after setting a new world record in the women’s 200m fly on Monday.

In the women’s sprint final, Finucane’s time of 10.608 seconds was 0.045 seconds faster than teammate Sophie Capewell to secure her second gold medal in the event.

“Yesterday I wanted to execute my journey to perfection, and I did; I walked away with a world record and I couldn’t believe it,” Finucane said after her win.

“But it doesn’t end there, you still have to take part in the races and the girls were really fast, there was a lot of fast running and to get this medal and this jersey means a lot to me.”

Finucane’s Welsh compatriot, Olympic bronze medalist Morris, dominated the women’s omnium race to win her third European Championship gold medal.

Morris, who said that “the European jersey is really special,” finished 13 points ahead of Norwegian Anita Stenberg.

Matt Bostock finished fourth in the men’s individual pursuit.

Great Britain won seven medals in Türkiye, including four gold.
