✅ Here’s what you’ll learn:
Google announced on Wednesday that it is making AI mode more accessible on mobile. Users will now be able to access AI Mode, which allows users to ask complex questions and follow-up to dive deeper into a topic directly within a search, via a new dedicated shortcut button below the search bar when opening the New Tab page in Chrome.
The new shortcut for Chrome’s AI mode will launch in the US starting Wednesday and will soon reach 160 new countries and other languages, including Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and more.
By making AI mode more accessible on mobile, Google is likely hoping people will use its service instead of turning to competitors’ tools.

The launch of the new shortcut comes as Google recently expanded its AI mode globally, bringing the feature to 180 new countries. The tech giant has also made this feature available in more languages, including Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Brazilian Portuguese.
Google first launched AI mode in March to take over popular services like Perplexity AI and ChatGPT Search from OpenAI. Since then, the tech giant has constantly updated the tool with additional functionality.
Yesterday, Google launched new agent capabilities in AI mode to allow users to get help booking event tickets and beauty and wellness appointments in AI mode. Google first brought agent capabilities to AI mode in August, when it rolled out the ability for people to use the feature to find restaurant reservations.
AI Mode launched a Canvas feature in July that helps you build study plans and organize information across multiple sessions in a side panel. It now also lets you use Google Lens to ask about what’s on your desktop screen.
