📌 **What You’ll Learn**:

Google announced Tuesday that it is expanding Personal Intelligence, a feature that allows its AI assistant to personalize its responses by communicating across your Google ecosystem, such as Gmail and Google Photos, to all users in the United States. Personal intelligence was previously only available to paid users, and is available in AI mode in Search, Gemini app, and Gemini in Chrome.

“Whether you’re searching for a specific brand of sneakers you previously purchased, or planning a family vacation based on hotel confirmations and past travel memories, Personalized Intelligence helps you find exactly what you need without having to provide all the context,” Google explained in a blog post.

Personal Intelligence is turned off by default, with users having the option to choose if and when they want to connect their Google apps to these services.

If you’re at a tire store and don’t remember your tire size, any AI chatbot can help you determine that size. But using personalized intelligence, Gemini can go even further by suggesting all-weather frames after recognizing family road trip photos in your Google Photos.

Or let’s say you’re planning a vacation and are looking for things to do and places to eat that your whole family will enjoy. Using personalized intelligence, AI mode can draw on your hotel booking in Gmail and past travel memories in Google Photos to suggest a personalized itinerary that suits everyone. For example, you might see recommendations like an old-fashioned ice cream parlor based on several ice cream selfies stored in Google Images.

In another example, you might be looking for a new bag to go with the new shoes you just bought. With Personal Intelligence in Chrome, you’ll see a range of options tailored to your recent purchases and favorite brands and styles. Recommendations will include subtle details, like hardware wallets that match your new gold shoes.

Gemini doesn’t drill directly into your Gmail inbox or Google Photos library. Instead, it trains on specific prompts in Gemini or AI mode and model responses, Google says.

Personal Intelligence is available today in the US to put AI in search, and has begun rolling out to the Gemini app and Gemini in Chrome for free tier users in the US.

Google notes that these experiences are only available to personal Google accounts, and not to business, enterprise, or education Workspace users.
