✅ Main takeaway:

Grand Theft Auto VI, one of the most anticipated video games of all time, has been delayed once again – this time until November 19, 2026.

The game was initially scheduled for a fall 2025 release but was pushed back to May 2026. On Thursday, Rockstar Games announced that the development team needed another six months.

“We regret adding additional time to what we know has been a long wait, but these additional months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you expect and deserve,” Rockstar Games wrote in its statement.

Grand Theft Auto VI is the sequel to Grand Theft Auto V, which was released in 2013. According to Guinness World Records, this game became the fastest entertainment property to reach $1 billion in sales, achieving the feat after only three days on the market. Fans are so looking forward to the next installment in the series that when Rockstar Games released the game’s trailer in December 2023, it broke the record for the most views on YouTube in 24 hours (excluding music videos).

Rockstar Games did not provide additional details about the delay. Last week, the company fired 30 to 40 employees for allegedly sharing confidential information on a Discord server.
