Hillary Clinton calls for a public hearing in the House investigation into Epstein

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, have agreed to testify before the House Oversight Committee in its investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, but she is now publicly calling for the testimony to be in a public hearing rather than in a closed session.

Hillary Clinton addressed the committee’s chairman, Republican Rep. James Comer, on social media, saying: “You like to talk about transparency. There’s nothing more transparent than a public hearing, with the cameras rolling.”

Comer said he would insist that the depositions, scheduled for the end of the month, be held in private, but videotaped and transcribed.

This exchange was the latest part of the acrimony between the two sides since the Oversight Committee summoned both Clintons in August.
