How to watch the 2026 Winter Olympics

The 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics will be held in the cities of Milan and Cortina, Italy throughout February. Some competitions start on February 4, however The opening ceremony will be held on February 6 at 2:00 PM ET It will include performances by Mariah Carey and Andrea Bocelli. In the wake of the events, There will be a closing ceremony on February 22 at 2:30 PM ET.

As was the case in past Olympics, this year’s games will be broadcast in the United States exclusively on NBC. You can watch if you have cable or satellite TV. Cable coverage will be across multiple NBC channels, including local NBC affiliates, CNBC and USA Network.

The games will also be shown live on NBC’s streaming service Peacock Premium, which requires an $11 per month subscription. If ads drive you crazy, ad-free Peacock Premium Plus costs $18 per month. (Set a calendar reminder to cancel service after the Olympics if you don’t plan to keep watching Traitors.)

Peacock will also be bringing back its Olympic Center website, which may be the easiest way to find the events you’re looking for. You can search for sports events or events, bookmark them in advance, and get notifications when they go live. This can be especially useful depending on what time zone you’re in, as all the games take place in northern Italy, which is in the GMT+1 time zone.

Opening ceremony

The three-hour opening ceremony will be broadcast on almost all Olympic media outlets On Friday, February 6th. Live coverage begins at 2 PM ET and 11 AM PT.

Alpine skiing

Alpine ski training begins on February 4, but competitive events begin with the men’s downhill on February 7 at 5:30 a.m. The first women’s downhill medal event is February 8.

Medal events will be held almost every day until February 18th. The final medal matches begin with the first men’s slalom on February 16.

The women’s final slalom starts on February 18.

Biathlon

Biathlon events are the closest thing the Olympics have to a James Bond movie. Skiers race down mountain passes and then stop to shoot. What’s not to like?

You can watch all the action starting with the 4x6km mixed relay on February 8.

All events are medal events and run until the men’s 1km race begins on February 20 and the women’s 12.5km race begins on February 21.

Bobsleigh

The bobsleigh events — no, not the bobsleigh, kid — start on February 12. Bobsleigh is one of the three sliding sports, which is a team of two to four people sitting upright in a sled with their heads sticking out. (Unlike bobsleds and skeleton skis, where athletes lie flat on their skis without sides or support).

Training events begin on February 12 at 6:50 a.m. There are four bobsleigh medal events, starting with the fourth round of the women’s monobobs on February 16.
