Ricochet lost the AEW National Title in a battle royal last Sunday at Revolution. Now, the world-famous player has been announced for a singles match at a major show.
A week ago at Revolution 2026, Ricochet’s national title was on the line in a 21-player Blackjack Battle Royal. Despite his great odds, Excellence at Height managed to outlast every one of his opponents until the field came down to him and his rival for several weeks now, Jack Berry. After a controversial exchange, the fan-favorite Jurassic Express star eliminated the Demand member and captured the AEW National Championship.
Ricochet returned to the squared circle for the first time since the AEW Revolution this Saturday at RevPro High Stakes, where he and GOA defeated the Flying Bryant Brothers in a multi-man tag match. He will also return to singles action against Michael Oko in Coventry, England, on Sunday. Now, The Highlight of The Night has announced another huge match next Friday at ROH
“BREAKING NEWS: On Friday, March 27th on Global Wars, AEW’s @KingRicochet goes head-to-head with the always energetic Rich Swann!” – MLP’s official X/Twitter account has been published.
It remains to be seen when Ricochet will return to All Elite Wrestling programming.
AEW’s Ricochet has issued an apology regarding the recent controversy
Ricochet recently came under fire after he attacked a fan who criticized his performance in a backstage promo after Revolution 2026 by making a hateful comment regarding the latter’s multiple sclerosis (MS). This generated immediate anger against the former National Champion, part of which manifested itself in the form of justified criticism of his remark, while part of which unfortunately manifested itself in the form of hateful retaliatory messages and even threats directed at the former WWE star and his wife, Samantha Irvin.
A few days ago, Ricochet finally issued an official apology for his direct response to his critic on X/Twitter, writing:
“I unwittingly took my hatred of IWC out on Sandy and others affected [sic] By MS. She didn’t deserve this, and for that I sincerely apologize. Moving forward I will do better.” books.
Reports have since made it clear that neither AEW nor the company’s broadcast partner Warner Bros. Discovery was the one who forced Ricochet to apologize, which was clearly inspired by advice the “Lightskin Kingpin” received from an old trusted friend.
