💡 **What You’ll Learn**:

British athlete Georgia Hunter-Bell won her first world title after winning gold in the 1,500 meters at the World Indoor Athletics Championships held in Poland.

Returning to the tournament in which she represented Great Britain for the first time just two years ago, Olympic bronze medalist Hunter Bell overpowered Ethiopia’s Berke Hailum before outpacing her rivals on the final lap to win in three minutes 58.53 seconds.

It was the 32-year-old’s fifth major international medal – and fourth on the world stage – as she continues to cement herself at the top of a sport she does not return to until 2022 after a five-year break.

It was a fourth-place finish at the 2024 World Indoor Championships in Glasgow that provided Hunter Bell with the necessary evidence that she can compete with the best in the world – and she must take a summer off from her full-time job to pursue her Olympic dream.

Britain’s Torun team captain, Hunter Bell, has won both 1,500m races this season as she prepares to chase her first world title.

She remained patient as Haylom opened up a huge lead in the early stages, gradually closing the gap before launching her devastating attack on gold at the bell.

Hunter Bell’s victory came moments before Molly Coderre secured herself a women’s pole vault medal.

It is Great Britain’s second medal in Torun, after Josh Kerr’s gold in the 3,000m on Saturday.

More to follow.
