“We have appealed [against the red card] “Our request was rejected,” Everton coach Moyes said.
He added: “We did not receive any reason to reject the request, but we immediately appealed it.”
On Thursday, Everton shared a photo of Jay and Kane wearing boxing gloves and embracing on their social media channels.
“It was over immediately,” Moyes said in a press conference on Friday.
“It’s done, that’s all. We moved very quickly and everything was resolved in the dressing room.
“We want passion. We don’t always want it in the style it showed on Monday night but we definitely want that passion and commitment from all the players.”
Gueye has started every Premier League match with Everton this season, and is scheduled to join the Senegal national team in the African Cup of Nations next December.
Moyes is also missing German midfielder Merlin Rohl, who recently underwent hernia surgery, while captain Seamus Coleman, who suffered a minor hamstring injury and was substituted at half-time at Old Trafford amid a season plagued by injury concerns, is also missing.
When asked if his team was light in midfield, Moyes said: “Yes, we are.
“Merlin [Rohl] Having surgery made us light, so we’re very short but we have other guys who can play there – Charlie Alcaraz, Dwight McNeil if we need to as well.
“I think these players can do the job there, if necessary.
“Merlin probably won’t come back until the beginning of January and Idrissa is suspended [and forthcoming Afcon participation] “It leaves us very short in that area.”
Everton’s Premier League campaign continues at Hill Dickinson on Saturday, when they host Newcastle (17:30 GMT).
