Igor Tudor: Tottenham interim coach says players can ‘cry or fight’ amid dire situation

Tudor was appointed partly due to his positive short-term record at previous clubs, including Italian giants Juventus, but the Croatian’s appointment has not brought about a change in fortune so far.

Tottenham have lost their past six matches in all competitions and have not won in the English Premier League since December 28.

Spurs owner Ennik said this week that he does not plan to take a decision on Tudor’s immediate future out of the hands of the club’s executive team.

“It’s about all of us,” Tudor said.

“In the last period, a lot of things have been said about what it is like [wrong with] club problems, [that] No one can do it [anything] As if we were victims

“This morning I said completely opposite things to the players. We are the team and we are the coaching staff. It’s all about us.”

Defender Micky van de Ven on Wednesday described Tottenham’s disastrous start in Madrid as a “doomsday scenario.”

That start led to young goalkeeper Antonin Kinski being substituted just 17 minutes into his Champions League debut for the club – a decision for which Tudor was criticized.

Asked if Kinski would play for Tottenham again this season, Tudor said: “He will play for sure. He came back the next day and was very good and positive in training. Nothing else. This is probably the first and last time this will happen in my life, and the lives of a lot of people.”

“It’s the same message I got before. You can go out and be the victim. Everyone was sending messages of help and saying ‘I’m with you’ and that’s nice too.”

He added: “He will certainly make other mistakes in his career, but I think he has the strength and quality ahead of him to have a very good career.”
