Igor Tudor: Tottenham’s interim coach’s father dies as club offers condolences

Tottenham He offered his condolences to interim coach Igor Tudor after his father’s death.

The 47-year-old Croatian did not undertake post-match media duties following Tottenham’s 3-0 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest on Sunday due to personal reasons.

Tottenham said in a statement: “Everyone at Tottenham Hotspur is deeply saddened to hear of the death of Igor Tudor’s father, Mario.”

“Our thoughts and condolences go out to Igor and his family during this very difficult time.”

Former Juventus boss Tudor has been appointed as Tottenham’s coach until the end of the season on February 13.

His side sit one point above the relegation zone with seven games remaining, having lost four times and drawn once in the Premier League during Tudor’s short time in charge.

The next match will be against Sunderland on Sunday, April 12.

Italian club Juventus, for whom Tudor played for many years, joined Tottenham in expressing its sympathy for the loss of his father.

“Juventus stands by Igor Tudor and his family in this difficult time,” the Bianconeri said in a statement on Channel X.

“Juventus participates in mourning the death of his father.”
