✅ Key idea:

The song I play at karaoke
I don’t like karaoke, but if I had a little vodka, I’d pick Frank Sinatra’s My Way and absolutely crush it. I love the lyrics: “Sorry, I’ve had a few / But again, too few to mention.” You know it’s going to be a crowd pleaser. I like Robbie Williams’ version too.

Best song to play at a party
When I have people around, I’ll put on some Motown. It takes me back to family parties where my grandmother and mother would dance. “I Can’t Help Myself Through the Four Peaks” is a great feeling of coming together. If you want to breathe the feng shui air into a room, bar or club, Motown makes you feel good.

The first song I fell in love with
Drugs do not work with vitality. It has very dark lyrics, but such a lyrical melody, and makes me feel real emotions.

The song that changed my life
Get It On by T Rex has the perfect blend of glam, boy and camp. There’s something about the way Marc Bolan performs and sings that is so charismatic. It makes you want to move, but the way he sings is so muted and simple. This is still the most badass rock ‘n’ roll tune ever.

First song I bought
No Limit 2 Unlimited, on single cassette, from Woolworths or HMV in Liverpool.

The song I secretly love but tell everyone I hate
Because I got ecstatic by Afroman, which is another movie from my childhood. I don’t know why that comes to my mind. I just went off my gut and that’s what came to mind first. You must think I’m mental!

The song that makes me cry
I’ve definitely had moments where I’ve cried for your boyfriend, Give Some Time to Richard Hawley, because I’ve been through a hard time, a breakup or something. I think these words are very relatable and very true. I’ve definitely had a moment like this on my own.

Best song for sex
I don’t really do that. Have I ever tried any of my music? No, I didn’t. I feel like it’s all about Tom Cruise, you know what I mean? But don’t tempt me!

The song to which I inexplicably know all the words
I got the Oasis…there and then the VHS for Christmas when I was 11, so I’d say cigarettes and alcohol.

The song I would want played at my funeral
The Good Life by Billy Joel and Tony Bennett.

Miles Kane’s new album sunlight in Shadows He is Out now.
