Khalif spoke to CNN, external She said on Wednesday that she had “nothing to hide” and would comply with testing requirements if the IOC conducted it.

She said: “Of course, I will accept anything that is asked of me to do to participate in the competitions.”

“They should protect women, but they should be careful that while protecting women, they should not hurt other women.”

Khalif, 26, has always struggled in the women’s categories. “I’m not transgender. I’m a woman,” she told CNN. “I want to live my life. Please do not exploit me for your political agendas.”

Last year, US President Donald Trump described Khalif as a “boxer” after he signed an executive order banning transgender women from competing in women’s sports categories.

A new body, World Boxing, was granted provisional recognition as the sport’s international governing body by the International Olympic Committee in February 2025.

It has introduced mandatory genetic testing for athletes “to determine their sex at birth and their eligibility to compete.”

When announcing the change, it cited Khalif, for which it later apologized.

Khalif filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) over World Boxing imposing mandatory testing in August.

The hearing in this case is still pending.
