Teenage player Amy Maguire returned to the Irish cricket team for their white-ball tour to South Africa in December.

The 19-year-old returned to the first team for the first time since being cleared by the ICC for her reshaped bowling in August.

Maguire was previously suspended after being reported by match officials following Ireland’s one-day international against India in Rajkot on January 10.

Head coach Lloyd Tennant has named two squads as Ireland face South Africa for the first time since 2022 in both ODI and T20 matches.

Gabe Lewis will serve as captain in both series, with an additional 12 players also named to take part in each group of three matches.

All-rounder Georgina Dempsey has been named in the ODI squad for the first time since January after a lengthy injury layoff, but, along with Sarah Forbes, will then make way for both Alana Dalzell and Louise Little in the T20s.

Ireland will play three one-day internationals against South Africa on 5, 7 and 10 December.

The two teams will then meet again in three T20 internationals on December 13, 16 and 19.
