British top seeds Jack Draper and Emma Raducano could take part in the mixed doubles after agreeing to play in next year’s United Cup in Australia.
Great Britain, Poland and Australia are the first three teams confirmed for the mixed team event, which will be held in Perth and Sydney from January 2-11 in the week before the Australian Open.
Draper withdrew from the 2025 tournament due to injury before Britain’s exit in the quarter-finals, while 2026 will be Raducano’s first appearance in the United Cup.
“To see the British [number ones] “Jack Draper and Emma Raducano’s debut squad will bring new star power to the tournament,” United Cup Director Stephen Farrow said.
Eighteen teams – each with up to three male and three female players – will be divided into six groups of three, with the teams in their respective groups playing in a round-robin format.
Each match will consist of a men’s singles match, a women’s singles match featuring the number one ranked singles players, and a mixed doubles match.
Draper and Raducano could participate in doubles, although it is likely that team organizers will select two doubles specialists for the team.
Ranking points will be on display and could be crucial as Raducano, currently ranked 29th in the world, attempts to qualify as one of 32 seeds for the Australian Open.
“I am honored to be able to make my debut in the United Cup in January,” Raducano said.
“Being able to play for Team GB with my teammates is a unique opportunity and a week to enjoy.
“It’s great to be able to try a new format on tour, represent my country and spend an extra two weeks in Australia.”
Poland confirmed the participation of world number two Iga Swiatek and Hubert Hurkacz, while world number six Alex de Minaur and Maya Joynt will represent Australia.
