šŸ“Œ Main takeaway:

Jack Draper will no longer work with the man who coached him to the Indian Wells title, as James Troutman wants to prioritize time spent with his family.

Britain’s number one has appointed Jimmy Delgado as his head coach for next season, but he was hoping there would also be a role for the man with whom he has enjoyed so much success over the past four years.

Troutman says it has become increasingly difficult to “reconcile” Draper’s career and family life.

ā€œI made the decision that four years was a great time,ā€ Trotman told BBC Sport.

ā€œI thoroughly enjoyed it, but it was becoming increasingly difficult for me to juggle the demands Jack deserves as a player – and also being a father and husband.

ā€œI need to start getting those energy levels back and have a little more normalcy – watching my son play football on Sunday, going on some family holidays, having a little more normalcy.ā€

Trotman says he first spoke to Draper about his future after Wimbledon, having felt mentally and physically tired during the previous year.

The pair have been working together this week, with the 23-year-old Draper returning to the training pitch after resting a left arm injury that ended his season early.

If the bruises on his arm heal as expected, Troutman will head to San Diego for some warm-weather workouts with Draper and Delgado at the end of November.

But after that, he will return to his job as LTA men’s national coach.
