Jack Grealish: Everton midfielder suffers stress fracture in foot – David Moyes

Grealish played the full 90 minutes as Everton beat his former club Aston Villa 1-0 in the Premier League on Sunday.

Everton, tenth in the standings, hosts Leeds United on Monday.

Moyes said they are in “close contact” with City over whether Grealish will remain at Everton while he recovers.

Asked how this would affect the possibility of making his move permanent in the summer, Moyes said: “We are not thinking about it at the moment.”

“We’re just thinking about Jack. We’re upset and disappointed that he’s injured.”

Grealish’s form at Everton has led to suggestions that he could be called up to the England squad and push for a place in this summer’s World Cup.

His last appearance came under caretaker manager Lee Carsley in October 2024.

Grealish won three Premier League titles, the Champions League and the FA Cup after joining City from Aston Villa for a then-British record £100m in 2021.

But he fell out of favor last season, starting just seven times in the league before being left out of the Club World Cup squad in the United States.
