Jake Paul recently dropped a bold promo for his upcoming boxing bout against Anthony Joshua and vowed to put in a light effort for the former world heavyweight champion.

Paul and Joshua are scheduled to lose in a heavyweight boxing match on December 19 in Miami. ‘The Trouble Child’ was initially booked to take part in an exhibition fight against Gervonta Davis, but the latter’s recent legal troubles involving his former partner forced promoters to cancel the event. In a recent video uploaded to social media, Paul vowed to “beat, defeat and embarrass” Joshua in their showdown next month and said:

“Make no mistake, this is the biggest fight of my career. I’m walking into the lion’s den. I’m doing something no one else has done before. I, Jake Joseph Paul, will beat, knock out and embarrass Anthony Joshua on Friday, December 19, live on Netflix… the biggest fight of 2025. USA vs. UK. He’s got the belts, the size and the history, but I’ve got the guts. Be careful what you wish for. Jake vs. Joshua, Judgment Day.”

Jake Paul admits he is “a little scared” ahead of the Anthony Joshua fight

While Jake Paul has undoubtedly made his mark on the world of boxing, it seems that the idea of facing someone like Anthony Joshua still scares him a little. Paul has a professional boxing record of 12-1 and has defeated high-level combat sports figures such as Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., Mike Perry, Nate Diaz, Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva and Mike Tyson.

On the other hand, Joshua is a former two-time world heavyweight champion and Olympic gold medalist. He has a record of 28-4, with 25 of those wins coming by knockout. He has scored wins over Alexander Povetkin, Wladimir Klitschko, Andy Ruiz Jr., Otto Wallin, and Francis Ngannou.

In a YouTube video, Paul previewed Joshua’s autobiography and admitted to being afraid of his power:

“Two-time world heavyweight champion. Olympic gold medalist. While he was winning Olympic gold, I was shooting Vines in high school. AJ is a knockout artist with fights that literally end in seconds. I’m not going to lie, I’m a little scared.” [H/t: MMA Fighting]
