๐Ÿ“Œ Hereโ€™s what youโ€™ll learn:

Anderson’s new deal means he will extend his professional cricket career to 25 years, having made his debut for Lancashire in 2001.

At the start of the 2025 season, Anderson suggested he could play a further three years for Lancashire, which would take him to 2027 and 45 years old.

Following his international retirement, Anderson worked as a bowling consultant for the England team, but stepped away from that role in the summer to focus on playing for Lancashire.

โ€œJimmy continues to be a fantastic role model for our players, raising the bar every day, and it was great to see the impact he had on the dressing room when he took on the role of County Championship captain during the second half of last season,โ€ said Director of Cricket Performance Mark Shilton.

โ€œIn addition to the consistency of his red-ball performance, for Jimmy to come back from the cold as far as T20 cricket is concerned and play such an active role in our Vitality Blast campaign at the age of 43 has been fantastic.

โ€œHaving him stay with us until 2026 is great news for our members and supporters, and a huge boost for everyone at Emirates Old Trafford ahead of next season.โ€
