✅ Here’s what you’ll learn:

World No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul shot a nine-under-par 63 to open a three-shot lead after two rounds of the LPGA’s season-ending CME Group Tour Championship.

The 22-year-old from Thailand made four consecutive birdies either side of the turn in her bogey-free round to reach 14-under of Florida’s birdie total.

Thitikul is aiming to win the most lucrative tournament in women’s golf – which has a top prize of $4m (£3.1m) – for the second year in a row.

South Korea’s Kim Se-young is at under 11, while Japan’s Nasa Hataoka is close behind along with first-round leader Sumi Lee.

Home favorite Nelly Korda, who struggled on Thursday, is also in strong contention after moving up the leaderboard with a 64.

The two-time major champion, who has not won an event this season, made nine birdies including three on the final four holes to finish Friday tied for fifth.

Korda said some minor adjustments to her putting made the difference after she only managed three birdies on opening day.

“On Thursday I was missing by just centimeters,” Korda said. “They were burning the edges, getting out.

“That’s been the common theme this year. I feel like I played a lot better than my score showed.

“So I honestly went to the green for five minutes and simplified it.”

Denmark’s Nana Corstz Madsen is the top-ranking European 8-under with England’s Charlie Hull frustratingly making three bogeys alongside six birdies in her round of 69.

It leaves England’s Hull at six under – eight shots ahead of Thitikul – with compatriot Lottie Wade at five under.

The LPGA’s season-closing event carries a total purse of $11 million (£8.4 million).
