✅ **What You’ll Learn**:

John Mitchell will continue as Red Roses coach until the next Women’s Rugby World Cup in 2029.

Mitchell led England to their first World Cup win in 11 years with a home victory in 2025.

“I am thrilled to extend my time with the Red Roses,” he said. “This extension provides continuity across the World Cup cycle and enables the program to operate with a clear, long-term vision.

“The past three years have been challenging and rewarding, with success at the highest level… and a culture that wins.

“This emerging group has the opportunity to continue to lead our game globally.”

In addition, after announcing her retirement from playing last year, record-tying all-time leading scorer Emily Scarratt has joined the coaching staff as “Offenses and Linebackers Coach.”

Former England attacking coach Lou Meadows is leaving.

The addition of Scarratt is likely to be popular with England players, but Scarratt has not been given the job permanently yet.

England’s announcement said Mitchell would be ‘head of attack’ at the 2026 Six Nations, suggesting this is a trial period for Scarratt, who will also continue in her role as assistant coach at PWR Loughborough Lightening.

Scaz is one of the most well-known and respected figures in women’s rugby, and since her retirement has continued to work at radio station TNT, as well as on her podcast ‘The Good, the Scaz and the Rugby’.
