Pickford has made 329 appearances for Everton since joining from his boyhood club Sunderland.
He played a key role in helping Everton retain their Premier League status despite sackings of executives, breaches of financial rules and points deductions in recent seasons.
Everton currently sit eighth in the Premier League table and are unbeaten at their new home – Hill Dickinson Stadium – so far this season.
Pickford said that the club’s players responded to Everton coach David Moyes’ request to start the season well.
Pickford added: “The manager was very frank with us in pre-season. He wants us to push where Everton needs to be.”
“I feel in the last few years we haven’t really started well. At the start of this season, we played seven games and got 11 points. We’re just above mid-table, so this is a better start and it’s about keeping that momentum going.”
Pickford has won 79 caps for England and has been the Three Lions’ first choice since the 2018 World Cup.
He broke Gordon Banks’ long-standing record last week by recording an eighth successive clean sheet in the Three Lions’ 3-0 win over Wales.
The last goal England conceded was more than a year ago, in a 2-1 UEFA Nations League defeat to Greece.
“It is a great honor to set achievements and records for them,” Bickford said.
“But if someone asks me do you want to keep a clean sheet or win the match?” I will always want to win the game.
“I always consider the team first. It’s a 4-3 win over a goalless draw all day long.”
