Jurgen Strand-Larsen: Wolves reject Leeds’ offer to sign the Norway striker

Wolves They rejected a £33m offer from… Leeds United For striker Jurgen Strand Larsen.

The offer, with a further £6m in potential add-ons, came several days ago.

Wolves value Strand Larsen at around £40m and are willing to sell the Norway international, who has struggled in the Premier League this season, if they receive an acceptable offer before the transfer window closes on February 2.

However, they are not pressing for a sale, and for now the 25-year-old will be part of the squad that takes on Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Wolves coach Rob Edwards said: “He’s been fantastic, he’s trained really well. He’ll be part of the team tomorrow, so no change.”

“That’s all I’m looking at at the moment, so I see a player with really good focus and attitude.

“We’re not under any pressure to sell at all. We want to try to be as strong as we can throughout this period now, so unless we feel it’s the right thing for the football club, no one will leave.”

“Nobody’s been knocking on my door. They’ve all shown a really good attitude and a desire to be here and train. But as long as that continues, it’s pretty clear.”

Wolves, who are bottom of the Premier League, are looking to reshape their squad ahead of expected relegation. Due to Strand Larsen’s poor form and his relationship with the fans deteriorating, it is expected that Molineux will leave.

Strand Larsen signed from Celta Vigo, initially on loan, in 2024 and scored 14 goals last season before making his move permanent in the summer for £23m.

An FA Cup hat-trick against Shrewsbury this month took his tally to six goals for the season, but only one of those has come in the league.

Newcastle failed to submit bids of £50m and £55m for Strand-Larsen in August.
