Kelly Hodgkinson leads Great Britain’s gold medal hopes at the IAAF World Indoor Championships

Jeremiah Azzo will look to retain his title in the men’s 60m, while 200m silver medalist Amy Hunt joins British record holder Dina Asher-Smith – competing at the World Indoor Championships for the first time since 2016 – in the women’s 60m.

Josh Kerr, the 2023 world champion and 2024 Olympic silver medalist in the 1,500 metres, will try to reclaim the 3,000 meters title he won in Glasgow two years ago.

World Indoor 800m silver medalist Georgia Hunter-Bell, whose bronze in the 1500m at last year’s World Indoor Championships looks set to come up with a promotion after runner-up Derribe Velteje’s two-year doping ban, will join 800m silver medalist Gemma Riki at the 2024 World Indoor Championships in the women’s 1500m.

Pole vaulter Molly Cowdery is aiming to return to the world podium for the first time since winning the World Indoor Championships two years ago, as is 800m runner Ben Pattison after winning his world medal in 2023.

The final size of the initial 29-member British squad could change, with 15 athletes being selected according to their final world ranking positions, which will be finalized by March 11.

World indoor 400m champion Amber Anning will not compete to “focus on preparing for a big outdoor season, including the Commonwealth Games and European Championships”.
