Kia is previewing the next-generation Telluride SUV as a “new standard” for the brand

DETROIT – Kia on Monday previewed the next generation of the Telluride SUV, which the company describes as “a new standard for the brand’s design and ambition.”

The first-generation Telluride has been a notable success for the South Korean auto brand since its launch in 2019, ranking several times as one of the most in-demand cars in the United States, based on inventory levels. It is a crucial vehicle for the company in the United States

Kia said that the 2027 Telluride, which is expected to arrive in American showrooms during the first quarter, has a larger and more modern design in general compared to the current model.

The new front end features a large grille flanked by vertical headlights, while the rear of the car features a sleek design and a silhouette reminiscent of a Range Rover.

The company on Monday released images of the Telluride X-Pro ahead of the three-row midsize SUV’s official debut later this month at the Los Angeles Auto Show, where more trims and details for the car will be released.

Telluride sales have been increasing every year since its launch in 2019, with Kia selling more than 444,000 units in total, according to the company. Vehicle sales are up 11% year-to-date through October, according to Kia.

Kia offers the current Telluride in 10 trim levels, with prices starting at $36,000 to $54,000.

A new version of the Hyundai Palisade, a sister car to the Kia Telluride, was released earlier this year with a starting price of $39,000 to $55,000, depending on the model.
