✅ Key idea:
The switch has 10 vibration modes (five internal and five external) with 16 intensity levels. I’ve never dealt with patterns, but if you are, you have plenty to choose from. But it’s the 16 intensity levels that deserve a round of applause. You can take the switch from the weakest murmur to such a powerful surge that your legs tremble from the vibrations alone before you reach its peak.
What I was most excited about was using the switch with a partner who also has a vulva. The Lelo app is easy to use, allowing my partner and I to take turns controlling the toy for each other, but it was the dual design, each with its own motor and type of feel, that allowed the real fun to begin.
I’m not going to try to convince you that the Switch is easy to use between two vaginas at the same time, because it’s not. Instead, it’s a bit difficult, because it’s fairly small (its total length is 8.5 inches), so you’ll have to explore the best way to do it that is comfortable for both partners. Important tip: A person with strong legs (Moi!) should be at the top to make using both ends together as seamless as possible. My partner and I found it funny and a bit awkward to try to get into the best position, but what is sex and intimacy without some silliness?
Even if you’re rolling alone, no matter your gender or how you identify, the Switch has something for everyone. I’ve yet to meet someone with a penis who doesn’t love some wand vibrations thrown into the mix – on the scrotum, along the perineum, or directly on the glans. Also, many dildo users I know enjoy a little (or a lot) of anal penetration with a vibrating dildo, so Switch covers that as well. As with the wand, the vibrating dildo can be used in other places besides the genitals. In other words, never be afraid to get creative with how you stimulate and bring your best pleasure.

Besides the special charger which, if you don’t already have a Lelo sex toy, can be quite a pain if you lose the cable, the Switch has something else I wasn’t too keen on: a playback time limit. I’m all for conserving energy and reducing the carbon footprint, but if the toy is geared toward someone — as in someone with a vulva — who can take up to 20 minutes to get aroused, and automatically turns off, that could be a problem.
This is based on inactivity, but if you’re like me and find a consistent intensity that works and doesn’t mess with it, you may find yourself getting interrupted. Missing an orgasm isn’t the end of the world, but it is when it is This is close? Sorry.
The Switch is 100 percent waterproof, can be charged for two hours (after taking about the same time to fully charge), and is controlled through an app. Through the app, you get two additional vibration modes, which may be the incentive some need to try it, although the app isn’t required to enjoy the Switch.
