Head coach Arnie Slott says he “must have done a lot of things wrong.” Liverpool For fans to feel frustrated with their recent form.

Liverpool were booed on Sunday after they conceded a 90th-minute equalizer against Tottenham in a 1-1 draw.

Despite winning the Premier League less than 12 months ago, the Reds’ style of play and a string of disappointing results have left fans dissatisfied.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher said it would be “really difficult” for Sloat to win back the support of the fans.

Liverpool are fifth in the league and will face Turkish champions Galatasaray in the Champions League at Anfield on Wednesday (20:00 GMT), trailing 1-0 after the first leg of the round of 16.

The Dutch coach said: “It is not good at all for them to feel frustrated because fans usually do not feel frustrated after a win.”

“First of all, you’re frustrated and disappointed by the fact that we didn’t win,” Slott said.

“People told me when I came here that this club is different from other clubs, and they will support the manager for a long time.

“But if you assume something, then I must have done a lot of things wrong and that’s not a nice feeling at all, because being at a club that always supports the manager, in good times and bad, and then if they’re not happy with me, then obviously I’ve done a lot of things wrong, and that’s not a nice feeling at all.”

He added: “But I also know how the football industry works. Winning can change a lot. That’s what we’re trying to achieve tomorrow night. We’re fully prepared for that, I can tell you that.”

Carragher claimed Liverpool are a team of individuals but Slott disagreed.

“I agree with a lot of things Jimmy has said throughout this season. In that regard, I don’t agree with him,” Slott said, stressing that his players never gave up.

“A team that gives up, a team of individuals or a team that does not work together, does not show resilience after the 120th setback we suffered this season. This is a bit of an exaggeration but we have a lot.”

Slot called on his players to bear the pressure as Liverpool looks to reach the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time since 2022.

The Dutchman admitted that it will be a special moment for him as well because he has not yet been able to reach this stage of the competition.

“It’s the most important (game) because it’s the next game. That’s pretty simple. The next game is always the most important,” Slott said. “After Galatasaray, another big game will be against Brighton with two days off again. We feel the importance of this match. We are capable of reaching the Champions League quarter-finals. It will be special for me because it will be my first. It will be special for all of us – we can never take the Champions League quarter-finals for granted.”
