Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, Slott added: “Every time it happens at the last minute, there is massive frustration.

“How many times does this have to happen? And it happened again today. This time it wasn’t a complete surprise – the last 15-20 minutes of the game were the most even part of the game.”

“I’m 100% sure that if they come on Wednesday they will be supportive again from the start, but if the team doesn’t perform to the standards they are used to, I think it’s completely normal for them to be frustrated,” Slott added.

“Arne Slott has to take a look at himself,” former Ireland striker Clinton Morrison told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“If Liverpool play like this in midweek, they will be eliminated from the Champions League.”
