Livingston will contact the Scottish Football Association to report Aberdeen over an alleged racist comment directed at striker Jeremy Bukela.

After Livingston’s 6-2 defeat by Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Saturday, coach David Martindale said Bukela, 37, was crying in the dressing room after a comment made on the pitch.

It is understood the alleged comment was of a racist nature and came amid a second-half brawl that led to Bukela being sent off.

After the match, Martindale said: β€œI’ve got a 37-year-old striker crying, so I’ll need to go and try to get to the bottom of this striker.”

Aberdeen said in a statement: β€œThe club is aware of allegations that racist language was used during today’s match with Livingston FC at Pittodrie.”

β€œThe player in question has been informed of these allegations and he strongly denies them.

β€œAberdeen FC condemns any and all forms of discrimination and we will cooperate fully with all relevant authorities during any investigation.

β€œWhile this process continues, it would be inappropriate to comment further,” he added.
