Logitech K98M Wireless Keyboard review: Great for productivity

The keyboard comes with a wireless USB-A dongle that can be stored in a slot on the back, and it also has Bluetooth connectivity. But the wired connection is completely absent. Instead, like most of Logitech’s productivity elements, the USB-C port is used exclusively for charging. This decision has always been made some It makes sense for Logitech mice, since the cable can get in the way of moving the mouse, but it makes much less sense for a keyboard, which is quite fixed. The K98M also features LED taillights. It’s set permanently to white, with only one brightness adjustment — a far cry from the hundreds of options available on modern gaming keyboards, and a sign that this is more about productivity than gaming. I personally don’t mind this, since the backlighting here is still practical for late-night use, but I can imagine some people will be frustrated by the lack of customization options compared to a gaming keyboard with per-key RGB lighting. However, the LED lighting blends in well with the transparent case, allowing a subtle glow to spread across the entire keyboard.

Like most of Logitech’s productivity lines, this keyboard is intended mostly for low-intensity work: where typing, spreadsheet organizing, basic media editing, and programming shine. Any high-intensity activities, such as gaming, are slightly outside the scope of their intended use case. However, this keyboard is still perfectly capable of basic weekend gaming, as long as you don’t need the ultra-fast 1000Hz polling rates of gaming-focused peripherals.

Somehow, despite being made entirely of plastic, this keyboard feels very solid. It’s dense and heavy without feeling industrial, and more than anything else, it just feels planted On your desk. However, the case is not particularly rigid. You can bend it by hand with ease, deforming almost the entire keyboard—case, panel, and keycaps—in unison.
