Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released another batch of photos from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate on Thursday, the eve of a deadline set by the Justice Department to release all of its files related to his case.
About 70 photos come from Epstein’s computer and email accounts, shedding more light on his lifestyle and social circles. The photos, among 95,000 handed over by Epstein’s estate last week, were presented to the committee without context.

One photo shows former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates standing next to a woman whose face has been obscured. Another shows Noam Chomsky sitting next to Epstein on a plane. Many of the photos show a social gathering over a meal and many of the faces of powerful or public figures, including Epstein. A separate photo that appears to be from the same room shows Google co-founder Sergey Brin and New York Times columnist David Brooks, a regular contributor to the PBS News Hour. Photos are undated.

A New York Times spokesperson said in a statement: “As a journalist, David Brooks regularly attends events to speak with prominent and important business leaders to inform his columns, which is exactly what happened at the 2011 event. Mr. Brooks had no contact with him before or after this one attendance at a widely attended dinner party.”

Several photos in the new release show Epstein being photographed with women whose faces have been retouched. One photo shows three women with Epstein, with an open computer nearby. One of the women puts her arm around his shoulder. Another photo shows Epstein sitting on a plane, pointing out the window while a woman sits next to him. Her face was also obscured.

Some of the photos in this set show close-ups of the foot and neck. In both photos, quotes from the book “Lolita” appear to be written in black pen on the person’s body.

Other unexplained images include:
- Identity cards or passports of several unidentified people from countries such as Russia and the Czech Republic.
- Hand holding Jeffrey Epstein’s passport open.
- What appears to be a screenshot of a series of text messages in which the scouts discuss “some girls.” The anonymous sender writes: “Maybe someone could be of use to J?” It includes the age and body measurements of an unidentified person.
- A hand holds a medicine bottle labeled for phenazopyridine, a generic analgesic used to relieve urinary tract pain and burning.

The latest cache of photos comes one day before a deadline set by the Justice Department to release the Epstein files after Congress ordered the information released.
“Oversight Democrats will continue to release photos and documents from Epstein’s estate to provide transparency to the American people,” Rep. Robert Garcia, the ranking Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, said in a statement Thursday.
“As we approach the deadline for the Epstein Files Transparency Act, these new photos raise more questions about exactly what the Department of Justice has in its possession,” Garcia added. “We must end the White House cover-up, and the Department of Justice must release the Epstein files now.”
