✅ **What You’ll Learn**:

AI-powered app building platform Lovable has backed a Danish hardware startup called Atech, which wants to introduce “bio-coding” to the device creation process. Lovable was part of an $800,000 seed round that also included a16z’s Scout Fund, Sequoia Scout Fund, and Nordic Makers.

In a conversation with TechCrunch, Gustav Hawgood, head of customer experience at Atech, said that the working of the platform is very simple. Users purchase a starter kit for whatever they are trying to create from the Atech website. They then open a tab on the site, talk to the AI chatbot, describe the hardware concept they’re trying to build, and the AI tool generates code that helps them build a working prototype. The company’s user base is currently very broad, “from 4-year-olds building cars to a hydrogen manufacturing plant that needs precise voltage sensing,” Hawgood said.

Typically, building any kind of hardware prototype requires decades of experience or finding expensive but talented engineers. But as the software accessibility gap “collapses,” the difficulty of building in the hardware space will also diminish, Hawgood said. “Devices, in a democratic world, should be available to everyone,” he said. The new capital will be used for research and development, marketing and recruitment.
