📌 **What You’ll Learn**:
If it was in doubt before this World Series, Littler has proven conclusively that he is the best player on the planet right now.
And the scale of his accomplishments during his first two years on the PDC Main Tour put him on par, if not higher, than a whole host of darts greats.
Only Phil Taylor, aged 14, and Michael van Gerwen, aged three, have won more PDC world titles than Littler, and he is also the fourth player to win in consecutive years.
The previous person to do so was Gary Anderson in 2015 and 2016, and remarkably Littler has already won more major PDC titles than the 55-year-old Scot and Adrian Lewis, who won back-to-back world titles in 2011 and 2012.
All this before his nineteenth birthday.
Eric Bristow was 23 when he won his second BDO world title – a year after his first – while Van Gerwen, at 24, was the youngest PDC title winner before Littler emerged.
Given that Taylor was 31 when he captured his second of a total of 16 world titles and 34 titles before clinching his first PDC title, Littler is well ahead of the game – especially when you consider “The Power” won his last title at 52 years old.
Whether you can envision Littler still playing in the 2060 World Series is another matter but certainly possible, which makes repairing Taylor’s record seem like a real possibility.
“It’s so far away, 14 years left. Another 15 or 16 years, I’d say…” Letlier joked.
“I think I can [beat Taylor’s record] If you stay there long enough and stay hungry.
“But as Michael van Gerwen says, once the hunger is gone, there’s no point in playing – but there’s a lot of hunger left in me.
“If it happens, it happens. I’m going to be here for a very long time and I’m here to win.”
“If I get five or six, I’ll be happy.”
