Malo Marcetto: London City Lionesses sign Danish midfielder

London City Liones are set to sign Danish midfielder Malo Marcetto on a permanent deal from Madrid FC.

The 22-year-old has represented her country at youth level, including 10 appearances for the Under-23s, and has been a target for the Women’s Super League side for a while.

It is believed that London City were originally hoping to bring her in when her contract expired in the summer, but were able to complete the deal in this window for a small fee.

The club, who currently sit sixth in the WSL standings, believe Marcetto brings high potential to the team and provides additional competition for the first team.

With the recent appointment of Spanish coach Eder Meister, La Liga has become a familiar hunting ground and Marcito is a player they will hope to develop for the future.

London City’s transfer policy this year has been to build a squad with a mix of young, high-potential talent and a host of big-name stars.

They have already signed France international striker Delphine Cascarino this window, but are not expected to bring in more before Tuesday’s deadline of 23:00 GMT.
