Talented Swedish striker Wangerheim is the latest addition to United’s attack which has also been bolstered by German star Lea Schuler this window.
Wangerheim arrives in Manchester after scoring 17 goals for Hammarby to help them finish second in the Swedish league in November.
She was an unused substitute for Sweden when England beat them on penalties in the European Championship quarter-finals last summer.
Skinner said the new signing would allow his side to be “more unpredictable” in their quest to win silverware this season.
“I thought we were becoming too predictable,” he said. “Manchester United’s ethos is about attacking with speed and conquest – and they bring that in abundance.
“She’s a lovely, calm person off the field. She’s full of life. She wants to take people on and run after them and I felt like we’ve lost that a little bit.”
“She’s 21 but she’s already got a lot of experience. She had 3,000 minutes in 2025 but she’s still in the category of someone who can add a lot of quality to her football as well.
“It’s a rare find.”
