Max Doman: Arsenal winger, 15, becomes the youngest player in the Champions League

Doman has been training with Arsenal’s first team since he was 14, and joined the first team for a warm-weather camp in Dubai in January 2024.

Fans were already demanding that the Englishman get his chance in the second half of last season, as Arteta lacked attacking options after several key players were injured.

Doman is no stranger to setting records, having become the youngest ever goalscorer at the European Under-17 Championships when representing England in May.

Last month, he also became England Under-19s’ youngest ever goalscorer.

So it is no surprise that he has featured as part of Arteta’s plans this season as the Gunners compete for success on four fronts.

Having a player with so much competition in senior football means Arsenal have put measures in place to advance his career and protect him.

These include where he changes, a strong focus on his education, as well as ensuring that the boy in an adult team environment is well supported by his teammates.

Arteta and the club have been cautious about how they manage Domane’s progress.

Following his debut in the 5-0 win over Leeds on August 23, Arteta said they are collecting information on how he reacts to certain situations, whether that be on the bench, training with the first team or not being included in the squad at all.
