First Lady Melania Trump will donate her 2025 inaugural dress to the Smithsonian on Friday

The strapless black-and-white dress was designed by longtime fashion designer and stylist, Hervé Pierre, who was seen sketching it for the First Lady and fitting her in her recently released documentary, “Melania.”

Trump will donate the dress to the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History, according to a White House media advisor. The museum contains a famous exhibit of First Ladies featuring more than two dozen of their dresses.

This will be Trump’s second donation to the exhibition. In 2017, she handed down the flannel off-the-shoulder dress she wore to that year’s inaugural balls, which was also designed by Pierre.
